Come see Portrait of a Lady on Fire presented with stunning 4K laser projection on the big screen in L3!

Set in France, 1770, a story of sapphic burning desire paints the screen. Sea breezes and crackling fires subtly set the tense, unbearable ambience amidst a uniquely scoreless film. Yet, whilst there is a deeper emotional plea behind the passion, there is complete fragility and patience woven into the storytelling. Don’t be fooled by the subdued aesthetics. Céline Sciamma delicately portrays the constant that is love, whether it be against an 18th century background or more contemporary one, and for that reason there’s a connection made between the screen and its audience. [Holly Beaumont]
