Come see The Social Reckoning presented with stunning 4K laser projection on the big screen in L3!

After a 16 year wait, Aaron Sorkin’s long awaited The Social Reckoning promises to once again place Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg under a scrutinous spotlight. Now played by Succession’s Jeremy Strong, this new iteration of Zuckerberg seems a strong departure from Jesse Eisenberg’s portrayal of the CEO as a spoilt narcissistic child, now becoming a cold, calculating monster who sees no errors in his ways. What also entices me is Sorkin’s promise to place Zuckerberg in a supporting role, whilst Mikey Madison’s Frances Haugen, an ex-data engineer for Facebook, is placed in the driving seat. If The Social Network is about Facebook’s rise, this is definitely about its fall. Based around a 2021 Facebook Leak, Sorkin’s narrative follows Haugen and journalist Jeff Horwitz, played by Rotta the Hutt himself Jeremy Allen White, as they leak thousands of internal documents proving that Facebook has a hand in inciting violence. The Social Reckoning promises to be a bitter exposé of the state of Trump’s America, hopefully all tied together by Sorkin’s textbook fast-moving and quotable dialogue. Expect a lot of walk and talk scenes. One cast member is notably absent though; Mr Armie Hammer himself is not confirmed to be returning. Will he make a Marvel style cameo as the third Winklevoss triplet so we can all get Armie Hammered three times? I guess we’ll have to wait and see… [Isaac Bennett-Gregory]
