Come see Little Women presented with stunning 4K laser projection on the big screen in L3!

Greta Gerwig’s Little Women is a faithful and visually beautiful adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel. Set during and after the American Civil War, the film follows the four March sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy, as they grow up, pursue their ambitions and experience love, loss and the reality of social expectations. While Gerwig draws attention to the importance of family and sisterhood, she places greater emphasis on the limited choices available to women during this period. This is shown most clearly through Jo’s struggle to become a successful writer while maintaining her independence. Saoirse Ronan’s passionate performance as Jo is truly breathtaking, and Timothée Chalamet’s Laurie also shares a close friendship with Jo, showing how they support and challenge each other. This, alongside the striking cinematography, makes Little Women a great choice of film to watch in L3 this term. [Nell Carter]
