Come see Punch-Drunk Love presented on stunning 35mm film on the big screen in L3!

After the incredible successes of both Boogie Nights and Magnolia, Paul Thomas Anderson set himself the challenge of a 90-minute-long romantic comedy, starring Adam Sandler no less. He invariably succeeds, creating a beautiful film that’s almost dreamlike and yet still characteristically affecting and human. Punch-Drunk Love follows the life of hapless small business owner Barry Egan, who is battling crippling loneliness, social anxiety, and seven tormenting sisters. However, after a chance, or not so chance, encounter with one of his sister’s coworkers, a chain of events is set off, and he eventually can declare himself confidently in love. Accompanied by Jon Brion’s hypnotising score and interspersed with visuals from video artist Jeremy Blake, this film will be a pleasure on 35mm and I can’t wait to watch this again on the big screen.
