Come see Fatherland presented with stunning 4K laser projection on the big screen in L3!
Much like Project Hail Mary, this film features Sandra Hüller, but that’s where the similarities end. Polish director Paweł Pawlikowski’s latest is a slow but engrossing drama following the German writer Thomas Mann and his daughter Erika as they travel across post-war Germany for the first time since the war. Pawlikowski’s understated direction really lets the film’s thematic and emotional depth shine, bringing up questions of identity, belonging, and home that are never fully answered and will leave you with a lot to think about. With beautiful black-and-white imagery, a devastating performance by the aforementioned Hüller (on an impressive run this year), and a final scene that will stick with you, Fatherland is not to be missed.
