Students donate £38,444 of goods to British Heart Foundation

The SU is pleased to announce that, since 1st April 2019, an impressive 2746 bags have been collected from the British Heart Foundation red collection bins across the University.

This amounts to approximately £38,444 of saleable goods for British Heart Foundation charity shops, in turn diverting 22 tonnes of items from landfill and the general waste stream.

As a result of this success, we have arranged a donation bin in a large off-campus private accommodation complex in Leamington, while our long-term goal is to lobby the councils to have red bins installed in student-heavy areas of the local community.

Many thanks to all students and staff who have donated unwanted clothes, books and other saleable possessions via these collection points – keep up the good work!

A number of clubs and societies are now running their elections on the SU website. Whilst we our doing our utmost to facilitate this, unfortunately it is being impeded by some candidates for election who are using language which is inappropriate to appear on the Warwick SU site.
