Introduction:
Hi everyone, my name is Nermen, and I'm excited to be running for the position of Vice President for Education because I'm passionate about making sure every student has the resources and support they need to succeed, and I believe I have the practical skills and experience to make a real difference.
My Experience and Skills:
My experience in the education sector spans 7 years, and I'm currently a member of the SSLC Student Staff Liaison Committee at Warwick, where I actively represent student interests, contribute to improving the learning environment, and organise successful workshops and study groups. Through these experiences, I've developed the following skills: strong communication and negotiation abilities, a keen understanding of the challenges students face, and the ability to effectively manage workshops.
What My Goals Are:
What I want to achieve, if I am elected, is the following:
• Goal 1: Increase funding for student groups focused on academic support and skill development, ensuring that all students have access to the resources they need to thrive.
• Goal 2: Increase accountability and transparency in the VP Education role by holding regular drop-in sessions where students can voice their concerns and provide feedback directly to me.
• Goal 3: Host an annual employability event that connects students with industry professionals, providing valuable networking opportunities and insights into career paths.
