About me:
Hi! I'm Vash (she/her). I'm studying an MScR in physics. I’m passionate about building an inclusive and supportive community at Warwick where everyone feels welcome and valued. Through initiatives like PG Connections, I want to bring people together and ensure you feel truly represented by the SU.
My Experience:
- Women's officer for Warwick Chess 21/22
- Vegsoc campaigns coordinator 22/23
- PG wellbeing rep 22/23
- Residential community assistant 22/24
- VP postgraduate 23/24
My Priorities:
Cost of living support for all students - work to improve the accessibiltiy and affordability of vegan, kosher and halal food options in the SU and university outlets. I will also lobby to decrease rent prices on campus, as well as providing hardship support for those in need, including mature and international students.
Increase transparency in the SU by making forum agendas and minutes accessible to all students. I will continue to ensure postgraduates are represented in any policy changes in the SU that may impact them. I will
Improve communications between the SU and SSLCS - I will attend PG SSLCs which I am invited to, and also improve communications on the SU webpage for postgraduates. I will create a network for PG SSLCS to be able to communicate across departments.
Work with the decolonisation advocates to decolonise the curriculum.
Ensure postgraduate students have access to the same level of support and resources as undergraduate students, including academic support, career development resources, and mental health services.
I will advocate for fair treatment for postgradautes by working with the PGR collective in ensuring the successful implementation of fractional contracts for GTAs.
