What Is Improv?
It is the creation of a scene without or with very little prior knowledge of what the scene will be about. Improv can also take the form of short scenes or games many of which will be familiar from the hit TV show 'Whose Line Is It Anyway'. Here at WITS you will get to take part in similar games and learn how to improve each scene.
1) Short form - which consists of short, unrelated scenes.
2) Long form - in which scenes are interrelated in a way to form one long narrative. Reincorporation is a key idea in this form.
3) Theatresports - games in which performers try to perform scenes while conforming to certain prescribed, and often prohibitive, rules.
