Data held on the SU servers is securely protected by several layers of anti-malware systems, so using the systems provided through your Society’s online Admin Tools is a safe option.
Any desktop or laptop computer or other device you might use to process personal data must be similarly protected by trustworthy and effective anti-malware software and safely password protected.
Use of USB storage should be avoided wherever possible – however if it is unavoidable the SU IT team can check the device in advance of use and ensure that it is safely encrypted.
Where hard copy data is unavoidably used it must be securely held to ensure that it cannot be seen or taken by anyone who should not have access to it.
