Hi there, |
I hope all your exams, assessments and studies are going well as we near the midpoint of Term 3. Please remember that if anything impacts your ability to complete any assessments, be sure to submit a mitigating circumstances claim through Tabula – this is the main way the University plans to mitigate the effects of the pandemic on academic achievement. If you have any issues with this, please speak to your academic department or the SU Advice Centre. |
Today is May 17th and so marks the next step of the Government roadmap out of lockdown restrictions. As such, we’ll be reopening the Terrace Bar and the indoor area of the Dirty Duck from today – you can find more information below! As we reopen, it’s more important than ever that you regularly get tested for COVID-19, to keep yourself and those around you safe. You can order home tests here or you can book a test on-campus here. We have also taken the decision to postpone the ticket release for the planned POP! and Skool Dayz events in June owing to concerns around a new variant of the coronavirus. We’ll be keeping an eye on the situation, and will update you over the next few weeks on our plans going forward. |
Thanks to those of you who stood for election and voted in the SU’s Summer Elections last week, and a massive congratulations to those of you who were successfully elected! We’ll be in touch over the next few weeks with next steps so that you can get prepared to take on your exciting new roles. |
Finally, last week saw the departure of the SU’s Education Officer, Megan Clarke, and Sports Officer, Charlotte Lloyd, as they left the SU to take on permanent employment elsewhere. Thank you to both Megan and Charlotte for all the work they have put into their roles and for everything they have achieved for students throughout their times in Office – we wish them all the best for the future! |
Stay safe, and have a great week. |
All the best,
Luke |
