Hi,

Polls close tonight at 9pm in the 2016 Autumn Elections here at Warwick Students’ Union. If you haven’t had your say yet, there’s still time by signing in at www.warwicksu.com/elections and casting your vote online.

What are these elections, and why do they matter? Put simply, this is YOUR chance to select the people who work behind the scenes at the SU and University to help improve the student experience for everyone at Warwick.

Exec Members sit on the SU’s 7 executive committees – Democracy, Development, Education, Postgraduates, Societies, Sports and Welfare – which oversee different areas of our operation and hold the Sabbatical Officer team to account. They are also responsible for allocating funding to different student-run projects in these areas.

Faculty Reps represent students on key University committee boards – they are your voice on educational issues affecting the different faculties for both undergraduates and postgraduates.

Part-Time Officers and Campaign Reps represent the interests of groups such as international and mature students, as well as helping to ensure that the SU’s campaigns remain relevant to the student community.

You can find out more about the background to these positions and the importance of student politics in Warwick Globalist’s fantastic Autumn Elections Special, which is available to read online here: http://warwickglobalist.com/2016/10/18/warwick-globalist-autumn-election-special/

Voting is all done online and only takes a few clicks – read the candidate manifestos and cast your vote at www.warwicksu.com/elections before 9pm tonight to make sure you have a say in how your Students’ Union is run!

Group 1: International Students (Non-EU)

Subject line: Have you voted yet?

Hi,

Voting is now open for the SU’s Autumn Elections. In these elections you’ll have the chance to vote for who will represent you as an International Student.

Their job is to represent the international community at every level, ensuring that you have the best experience whilst you’re at Warwick.

The two officers coordinate representation of EU and Non-EU students, raising awareness of issues affecting international students in all areas. They act as your first point of contact and ensure that your opinions are reflected in all areas of the University.

Voting closes at 9pm tomorrow, so please spend a couple of minutes looking at what our candidates are offering to do for you this year!

Voting is now open for the SU’s Autumn Elections. We have a number of Postgraduate positions, as well as the Postgraduate Exec that you can vote for.

Postgraduate students are often under-represented in University life, but your elected officials promise to act as your voice in all areas of the Union and University.

They will work closely with our Postgraduate Officer, Nat Panda, to ensure that Postgraduates (both Taught and Research) have the best experience you can at Warwick.

Group 3: Medical Students:

Subject line: Have you voted yet?

Hi,

Voting is now open for the SU’s Autumn Elections. We have two Medical Faculty Representatives up for election in addition to the other positions.

The SU plays an integral role in your experience at Warwick, so make sure you have a say in who’s going to represent your interests.

Medical Faculty Representatives take the lead on academic issues and work closely with your SSLCs to make sure your department understands what you want from your degree.

Medical students, though often not based on central campus, are still a vital part of our community but sadly are often underrepresented. We hope you’ll help us try and change this - voting closes at 9pm tomorrow, so please spend a couple of minutes looking at what our candidates are offering to do for you this year!
