This week is your last chance to sign up for discounted coach travel to the #Nov19 NUS National Demo. SU Officers will be marching in London alongside UCU members, staff and hundreds of Warwick students to voice their opposition to the government’s Higher Education proposals, which look set to turn the UK’s university system into a fully-fledged marketplace.
For too long now, successive governments having punished students for furthering their education – and with support services finally reaching breaking-point, it’s time to finally say “enough is enough”. Check out Welfare & Campaigns Officer CHLOE WYNNE’s latest blog post below for information about how the marketisation process affects students’ health and wellbeing, and join us to stand up for the future of Higher Education next Saturday!
With the SU calling an Emergency Meeting of the University Senate this week to discuss the establishment of a Lecture-Free ‘Week 0’ at the start of the academic year, it’s also your last chance to add your name to our petition demonstrating the wealth of student support for this initiative – see below for more details.
