The Local Elections and Police & Crime Commissioner Elections take place this Thursday – don’t forget to vote if you’re eligible, as students represent a significant proportion of local constituencies and could have a real influence on the outcome. Closer to home, SU President ISAAC LEIGH has posted a blog containing background data relevant to the upcoming NUS affiliation vote, while Postgraduate Officer NAT PANDA has posted an update on the SU’s campaign to tackle food waste on campus. Click on the subject headings below to take a read!

The SU is closed on Monday 2nd May for the Bank Holiday, though The Terrace Bar and The Bread Oven will still be open if you’re feeling thirsty or peckish. If you’re planning to attend this year’s Sports Ball, don’t forget that tickets go on general sale at Noon on Tuesday, while tickets for the 2016 Societies Awards and Graduation Ball are also now available for purchase – see below for links.

Ahead of an upcoming vote on Warwick’s membership of the NUS, SU president ISAAC LEIGH has blogged with some quantitative background financial data for students.

This year, we are focusing on the issue of food wastage on campus and how students can reduce this. Check out SU Postgraduate Officer NAT PANDA’s latest blog for more details!

Make sure you vote in this week’s Local Elections and Police & Crime Commissioner Elections if you’re eligible and registered to ensure that the student voice gets heard in the local area.

The SU’s Advice Centre team will be running another Housing Info Session this Wednesday for anyone looking to explore their options next year – come along to the Atrium from Noon to speak to one of our advisors!

The nominations are in – best of luck to everyone who’s up for a prize recognising their outstanding work representing students on SSLCs this Friday!

The remaining tickets for this year’s Sports Ball go on general sale this Tuesday at Noon – please remember to use the SU’s ticketing site to reduce congestion on the main website!

Celebrate your extra-curricular achievements this year in style – tickets for our annual Societies Awards are now on sale to students, alumni and guests.

The Graduation Ball is our big bash for Finalists and their guests, held in the splendour of the Birmingham Hilton Metropole. Tickets are going fast – don’t miss out if you’re intending to join us!

Help us help you… and get a free lunch in the process! We’re currently looking for students to sign up to the Mystery Diner scheme running in our outlets.

Fancy heading up a team of Freshers Helpers during the most exciting time of year? If so, applications for 2016 Freshers Supervisors are now open via the SU’s Jobs page.

Applications are also now open for International Orientation and Postgrad Welcome Week helpers if you’re interested in getting involved – deadline: 5th May.

Do you know a Final-Year student who’s made a real difference in the Warwick community? If so, nominate them for an Outstanding Student Contribution Award!

The University’s Sustainability Team is running various events this term designed to get students thinking in greener ways.

Warwick is committed to enhancing race equality and creating an inclusive culture and environment where individuals are able to thrive, irrespective of their race or ethnicity. They want to hear your views of your time here and what you think we should be doing to advance race equality.
