Happy New Year – we hope you had a relaxing festive season!

It’s set to be another busy term on campus, with the return of huge student-run events like One World Week, Battle of the Bands, Warwick Economics Summit, the Real Ale Festival and our annual face-off against Cov Uni’s sports teams at Varsity. The SU will also be taking a hard look at accommodation costs for students this term – see below for details of upcoming events and meetings which you can get involved with.

By popular demand, the PG Hub is now open from 9am until midnight, 7 days a week. Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen!

Student Accommodation on campus will change a lot over the next few years, and we want your experiences to be at the heart of the SU’s contribution to these changes. Think your accommodation has been too expensive, or just right? Have a Rent Rant for a chance to win 2 free tickets to an SU event of your choice.

The SU Knowledge Cooperative is a chance for students to collectively discuss, highlight and investigate potential solutions to the issues we face with a panel featuring local and national insights. Come along this Thursday if you’d like to share your thoughts on the Housing Crisis!

Missed our Housing Day last term? If so, make sure you check out Welfare Officer LUKE PILOT’s top tips if you’re planning to look for future off-campus accommodation.

Due to the resignation of the Women’s Officer, the SU is hosting a By-Election for the position for the remainder of the academic year. Nominations are now open until Monday Week 2 at 12pm, and anyone self-defining as a Woman can nominate themselves online.

If you identify as a woman, ethnic minority, LGBTUA+ or disabled student, don’t forget to Self-Define confidentially on your SU website profile to be able to vote and stand in elections for the Liberation Officers who represent your voice.

There’s another chance to get yourself tested for sexually-transmitted transactions on campus this Tuesday – visit Meeting Rooms 4/5 of SUHQ from 11:30am for a free check-up.

The incoming Vice-Chancellor, Stuart Croft, has agreed to hold termly Q&A sessions with students – visit SU President ISAAC LEIGH’s blog for details of this term’s meeting.

Student Assembly is a chance for those who might not usually get involved with SU democracy to have their say on the biggest issues affecting students, question SU Officers and recommend the motions to be discussed at All Student Meetings. The big topic at the next Assembly on 9th May is Student Accommodation, and free pizza will be available. If you’re interested, submit your name via the link above!

Help make your New Year’s resolution a reality by getting a huge range of student discounts to achieve that #Janplan with NUS Extra. There’s also a chance to win £500!

Be in with a chance of winning tickets to our new club night featuring 99 Souls this weekend – simply ‘like’ the event page on Facebook and you could be joining us for free on Saturday night!
