Week 8 of Term 2 will see campus besieged by lecture shout-outs and seas of coloured cardboard as the OFFICER ELECTIONS return. There are 7 full-time Sabbatical Officer positions up for grabs, including the role of Postgraduate Officer - these are the people who are looking to run specific areas of the Students’ Union and represent the entire student body next year, so it’s really important that you take the time to read the candidates’ manifestos, chat to them about their ideas and make the right choice.

There’ll be a chance to quiz everyone who’s running at Candidate Question Time on Monday and Tuesday from 5pm in the SU Atrium - voting then opens at 9am on Wednesday via the SU website and closes at 9pm on Friday, with the results announced that evening at our Elections Party in Copper Rooms 2. Make sure you have your say in the future of your Union by helping to shape its leadership!

This week’s PG Society of the Week is ChemSoc, who - with two dedicated Postgraduate Officers sitting on their executive committee - are working hard to include more postgraduates in their ever-growing society. They offer dedicated PG events including meals, pub socials, Christmas parties, sporting matches and Laser Quest, along with integrated socials for all members. They’re also encouraging stronger links between postgraduates and undergraduates at an academic level - PhD students have presented their research to undergraduates in their weekly Chem Café, as well as participating in Q&A sessions tackling the reality of postgraduate study. In addition, their annual Masters/PhD workshop offers networking opportunities, with students from the majority of the department's research groups attending. Visit their Facebook group chemsocpostgrad for more information, or Tweet them via @warwickchemsoc

Your chance to elect the people who’ll be representing you locally and nationally in the coming academic year – read up on the candidates at our Elections mini-site and cast your vote from Wednesday.

The world’s most prestigious paper plane contest takes flight once again - the Warwick Uni Qualiflyer will take off on 6th March at the Sports Centre to see who’s got what it takes to mix it up with the best of the best.

Whether you’re looking for vacation work experience, volunteering opportunities or graduate roles, the Graduate Jobs & Work Experience Fair is the event to attend. Non-profit organisations, SMEs, large corporates, public sector and charities will be here to meet you this Thursday, 26th February.
