The big news in Week 2 is the return of the Refreshers Fair on Tuesday in the SU. With a New Year bringing all sorts of opportunities and resolutions, why not check out the vast array of student-run clubs and societies that we offer here at Warwick?

They’re a great way to stay socially active, meet like-minded people, explore existing interests or just try something new – who knows, they may even end up changing your life. We’ll be bringing loads of different sports clubs and societies all together under one roof, with different performances taking place throughout the day – head down to the Atrium and Copper Rooms between 10am-4pm on Tuesday to see what’s on offer!

As always, if you can’t make it along on the day, you can find out more about everything that’s available and join up online at warwicksu.com/societies/. Have a great week – and don’t forget to buy your Skool Dayz ticket in advance if you’re planning on coming along this Saturday!

Undergraduate, Postgraduate, International or Home student – there’s something to suit all tastes and interests here at the SU. Societies Officer Isaac Leigh blogs on the benefits of checking out the Refreshers Fair from his own experiences as a student.

Is Bitcoin the future of currency, or should it be outlawed? Come along to H0.52 from 7pm on Friday to hear arguments for and against the motion “This House Would Ban the Use of Cryptocurrencies”.

A PhD candidate in Psychology here at Warwick is conducting a study on Personality and Perception, and is looking for additional responses to her online survey - the study takes about 10-15 minutes to complete, and there are 4 x £50 Amazon vouchers to be won.

A special one-day conference on Saturday 24th January for students looking to explore key issues in education and campaigning – sign-up is free, and places are still available!

The Centre for Professional Education are hosting a series of upcoming taster sessions for anyone interested in finding out more about becoming a teacher – click through to their website for more details and to sign up.

This week’s special is Spicy Meatballs for £3.45: pork meatballs in a chilli tomato sauce, topped with grated cheddar.

Circuit Laundry, the company which manages the Rootes Laundrette, have now moved to a cashless payment system. Cards and credit are available from their top-up machine, which is located in the SU next to The Bread Oven.

If you missed our Housing Day at the end of last term, don’t worry – there are still loads of useful house-hunting tips available online via the SU Advice Centre’s webpages.

Change100 is a programme of paid summer internships and mentoring, designed to support the career development of talented university students who define as having a disability or long-term health condition. Application deadline: 30th January 2015.
