Welcome to Week 2 of term!

This week sees the start of Black History Month at the Students’ Union, including a screening of the Michael Jackson Bad 25 documentary at 6pm on Tuesday. Make sure you follow the team on Facebook via facebook.com/warwickbhm for all the latest updates and to check out the full programme!

If you’re looking to get more involved this year but missed the Sports or Societies Fairs last week, don’t worry – you can still sign up at any time online via the SU website. Head to either warwicksu.com/sports/ or warwicksu.com/societies/ to find out what’s on offer – it’s no exaggeration to say that it could end up changing your life, and will most certainly come to define the remained of your time here at Warwick!

We hope you’ve been enjoying all the events in the SU thus far – tickets are available to all current students and are selling fast for the remaining programme, so don’t leave it too late to grab yours in you’re intending to join us!

Warwick Black History Month begins on Tuesday, offering an inspiring programme of talks, screenings and events designed to engage all students with often-neglected histories. Check out the full programme online for further details!

If you’re interested in running to be a student rep this year, don’t forget that nominations for the upcoming Autumn Elections close online at 5pm on Friday – visit the Democracy section of the SU website for full post details and info on how to apply!

Create your own handmade jewellery items to keep or give as a gift this Monday from 5:45pm in Curiositea.

Things are about to get HOT on Tuesday night in Copper Rooms 2 as the Salsa Society invite you to sizzle and shake to some of the sultriest sounds around. There are also dance classes from 8pm if you want to brush up on your moves!

This Thursday (9th October) from 6pm–9pm, Royal Priors Shopping Centre in Leamington Spa will be open late for an exclusive Student Night. For one night only, there’s discounts, competitions, live music and freebies just for students including 20% off at Superdry, Topshop, New Look, Bank, USC, Cath Kidston, Gap, Animal, Ann Summers and many more!

Join Warwick Debating Union on Thursday October 9th at 7pm in MS.01 for their first event of the year, discussing the motion: ‘This house believes that China will be the dominant world power in the 21st Century’.
