We've become aware over the last week of problems that PG students who teach have been experiencing with regard to claiming holiday pay that they're entitled to - please see the lead item below for more information on this issue if you're affected by it.

Elsewhere, there's plenty going on this week here at your SU as we gear up for the coming of the holidays - make sure you don't miss out on The Bread Oven's legendary Christmas baguettes as they make a welcome return!

If you're funding your studies with a part-time job (including teaching at the University), are paid hourly (rather than salaried) and have no annual leave allowance, you are entitled to holiday pay on top of your hourly rate. If this holiday pay has not been included in your wage payments, you are entitled to claim this money back from your employer. If you have not received holiday pay, you may be entitled to back-dated payments.

If you are a postgraduate student employed by the University as part-time teaching staff and you feel that you have not received holiday pay for your work (either this academic year or last), you will need to contact your Departmental Administrator. We'd also be really interested to hear from you regarding this - you can get in touch with Postgraduate Officer Lucy Gill via postgrads@warwicksu.com!

If you are actively considering applying for PhD funding and don't know where to start, the PhD Funding Mentorship Scheme can help. If you register with the scheme, they will do their best to match you with a suitable PhD mentor who, as well as helping to identify sources of funding, can help you to learn more about PhDs and the application process, planning your application and managing your time, locating further resources to support your application and understanding how to successfully meet challenges.

Find out more by emailing pghub@warwick.ac.uk, or visit their website.

Don't forget that SU Postgraduate Officer Lucy Gill will be available to talk to in the PG Hub this Friday from 1:30pm-4pm - come along if you think there's anything she can help you out with!

It's time to get in the festive spirit at your favourite campus tea-shop as our menu of Christmas Specials returns during Weeks 9 & 10. From foaming hot winter beverages to cockle-warming treats, we've got just what you need to beat those winter blues!

The best lunch on campus is back. Our specials at The Bread Oven for the next two weeks will be the glorious CHRISTMAS BAGUETTES - either Roast Turkey with Sage & Onion Stuffing and Cranberry Sauce for £3.75, or Roast Sweet Potato with Goats Cheese and Cranberry sauce for £3.45.

It's your last chance this term to get yourself checked out for sexually-transmitted infections on Tuesday - come along to our free and confidential GUM Clinic from 11:30am-5pm in Meeting Rooms 4/5 of SUHQ.

Worried about housing for next year? Signed for a house but don't know the area you'll be living in very well? About to sign for a house? Haven't started looking yet? Come along to our Housing Day in the Atrium from 10am-4pm on Wednesday 27th November - we can help you with checking contracts, advice on landlords, deposits, disrepair and any other worries you might have.

The NHS is running its Improving Access to Psychological Therapy stress, anxiety and low-mood management sessions again from 11am-1pm in MR6 on Fridays. The sessions take place once a week - visit for more information and to sign up.

Our main festive event in Week 10 is set to be very busy - come and join us in a veritable Winter Wonderland as we bring you an Ice Rink in the Atrium, spectacular seasonal décor, a live party band playing all your favourite hits, real reindeer out on the Piazza and much more.

Tickets cost £16 and are available online.

Our Table d'Hôte Christmas Menu will be running from Monday 2nd December (Week 10) until 20th December, offering a succulent array of festive specials to get you in the Christmas spirit! Demand is always very high during the last week of term, so make sure you book in advance if you want to guarantee a table for your party.

Warwick Sport's annual charity Naked Calendar is back and now on sale! At just £5 each, these calendars are an absolute bargain - once purchased, they can be collected from SUHQ reception with your student card. Limited numbers are available, and they always sell out - head to the Warwick Students' Union website to purchase yours. All proceeds go to supporting British Blind Sport!

The new Book Sale function is now available on the SU website, allowing you to buy or sell new and used textbooks all year round - visit warwicksu.com/books/ to get started!
