Things may quieten down slightly here on campus over the next few days due to the Undergraduate Reading Week – however, there’s still plenty going on! Whether you fancy trying your hand at the Cleverducks Pub Quiz or catching Hitchcock’s classic spy thriller The 39 Steps at Curiositea Cinema Club, here’s a brief overview of what to expect at your SU in Week 6…

Strike action update...

Student Council voted to show solidarity with the University teaching staff striking last Thursday, including those of you who may be affected – read SU Postgraduate Officer Lucy Gill’s latest blog on the subject at the link above.

This Friday....

Lucy will also be available to speak to in the PG Hub every Friday from 1:30pm-4pm - come along and ask her anything about your life and studies here at University and she’ll do her best to help you out!

The spirit and atmosphere of Oktoberfest will be taking over The Copper Rooms for a Bavarian-themed extravaganza this Friday - tickets cost £7, which also buys you a personal 1litre Stein to use on the night and then take home with you!

The Warwick Philosophy, Politics and Economics Forum is a distinguished speaker event and panel debate that discusses global issues with an interdisciplinary approach. Tickets for this year’s event on Saturday 9th November cost just £5 for students and are available now via the SU website.

The new Book Sale function is now available on the SU website, allowing you to buy or sell new and used textbooks all year round - visit warwicksu.com/books/ to get started.

This week’s special is Get Your Goat for £3.20 – Warm Goats Cheese served with Caramelised Onion Chutney. Alternatively, our Meat-Free Monday option will be Roasted Red Pepper Houmous and Grated Carrot for £3.20.

The first All Student Meeting of the year begins next week. You can view the issues being debated and voted upon here – remember that any student can vote on these issues. The physical debate is Monday Week 7 at 5.30pm in the Atrium and voting takes place online from Tuesday to Friday of next week. Don’t let decisions be made on your behalf!
