“It’s Chriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiistmas!”, as perma-screaming Slade urchin Noddy Holder insists on informing us from around the start of September every year – and, as such, we’ll be getting into the festive spirit here at the SU throughout the last week of term with our various seasonal events and outlet offers. We’ll also be posting our opening times for the vacation soon on the SU website, so make sure you keep checking back for details of these if you’re still about over the holidays!

On an academic note, please make sure you’re up to date with all the latest news on this Tuesday’s upcoming strike action – you can read the SU’s statement and find out more information about how this might affect you below. In the meantime, all the staff and officers here at the SU wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and “yippee ki-yay” this festive season – stay safe over the holidays, and we’ll see you all back here in 2014!

The SU has published its statement on the upcoming strike action this Tuesday (3rd December), which is available to view online. Postgraduate Officer Lucy Gill has also written a blog post on the background to the strike and its relation to undergraduates – you can read this here.

Come and join us in a veritable Winter Wonderland this Thursday as we bring you an Ice Rink in the Atrium, spectacular seasonal décor, a live party band playing all your favourite hits, real reindeer out on the Piazza and much more. We’ll even guarantee the one thing the Met Office can’t: snow!

Tickets cost £16 and are going fast – don’t leave it too late to get yours from warwicksu.com!

We spoke to over 1000 students at our Housing Day in the Atrium last week – a massive thanks to everyone who came along! Head over to Welfare Officer Cat Turhan’s latest blog for an update on what went on, together with photos from the event – if you missed it, however, don’t panic as there’s always information available to view online at warwicksu.com/advice.

Warwick Anti-Sexism Society (WASS) are currently running a survey relating to the safety of student spaces on campus. The survey is anonymous and all input from students at Warwick is welcome – complete it online to submit your views!

A website by the name of Ratemash has been uploading photos from students' Facebook profiles without their consent and exhibiting them for users to rate their "hotness", categorised by University. Cat Turhan has written a blog post on this issue – please take a moment to read it if you think you might be affected by this and would like your pictures to be removed!

Our Table d’Hôte Christmas Menu starts this Monday and runs until 19th December, offering a succulent array of festive specials to get you in the Christmas spirit! Demand is always very high during the last week of term, so make sure you book in advance if you want to guarantee a table for your party.

Have you tried one of our fabulous CHRISTMAS BAGUETTES yet? If not, you’re missing out! Our specials, running until the end of Week 10, are either Roast Turkey with Sage & Onion Stuffing and Cranberry Sauce for £3.75, or Roast Sweet Potato with Goats Cheese and Cranberry sauce for £3.45.
