While you are busy relaxing (or working!) during the vacation period, this month saw the end of one period of office and the start of another for the Sabbatical Officers that you have elected to represent you. From the 1st August, the old Officers were out and the new are in, so we thought we'd take the opportunity to let you know what they'll be getting up to over the next few months.
We've also opened sign-ups for Freshers Helpers - your chance to help welcome new students to campus over the Freshers period and earn some money while you're at it! More details and how to apply are down below.

Ben Sundell
President
Hi everyone! My name is Ben Sundell and I'm your SU President. My job is to represent YOU! I'm your lead student representative at the Union, to the University and externally, and I'm here to make sure that your voice is heard at every possible chance. My mandates are decided by you, so if there is something you think the Union should be doing, get involved in Union Democracy and change it!
My personal priorities this year are to get all your lectures recorded so that you can listen to them again, to increase the work we do in the local community through volunteering projects, and to further develop the University and SU's Widening Participation Agendas. If you have any questions for me, please just ask, send me an email or just drop by my office. Have a great year!

Cosmo March
Democracy and Development Officer
Hi all, I'm Cosmo and I'll be your DDO again for this coming year. Democracy-wise, my main objective this year is to beef up officer accountability so that you get better value from your elected representatives.
From a Union Development side, Copper Rooms 2 will be seeing some BIG improvements over the summer – expect it to have more of a nightclub feel, with new seating and improved sound and lighting!
Don't forget to get in contact if you have ideas for your Union, no matter how big or small!

Postgraduate Officer
Hi, I'm Lucy and I'm your Postgraduate Officer this year! I'm aiming to ensure that postgraduate students are just as involved in campus life as undergraduates, and that the Union has plenty of activities and events to suit your distinct needs. I'm also here to deal with any academic concerns you may have, and will be leading on all things green at the Union. If you have a concern or idea relevant to postgrads, then get in touch – I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

Ant Scott
Societies Officer

Societies have been a defining part of my University experience, and I'll be working hard this year to provide support for all our incredible execs so that societies have the same powerful impact upon other students that they had upon me. Zoe Buckland
Sports Officer
Hi I'm Zoe, your Sports Officer! Sport has really shaped my time at Warwick and made my University experience incredible. From being a cox for Warwick Rowing and punching pads in kickboxing sessions to being a club President, a member of the Sports Committee and coordinating the E&Y Football Leagues, I've been involved in both the playing and the organisation of sport. I'm super-excited to be even more involved in sport at Warwick this year because I'm really passionate about getting everyone participating at some level.
