 We are very excited to present Campaigns Convention 2012! This will be the first time Warwick SU has run anything like it and it aims to educate, engage and promote the benefits of student-led campaigns. The first Convention of the year is set for Saturday 13th October in The Copper Rooms from 1pm – 4pm, and here we hope to show off the new and exciting campaigning plans Warwick SU has for the next year - from helping members carry out bigger and better campaigns, to receiving feedback from those in attendance, to helping guide and steer where the campaigns resources should be focused for each and every society. On Saturday you can also vote on the Campaigns Committee – come and stand for election or at the very least, see what Campaigning is all about at Warwick – be a part of it!

 Want to represent your course? Want to discuss educational issues and concerns with academics from your department? Then think about standing as an academic rep in your Student Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC). There will be elections in one of your lectures or online, so keep an eye out, and get involved!

 We have a variety of societies for all students to get involved in. In order to join a society, you must purchase Societies Federation membership (a one off fee of £14). You can join societies throughout the year so please do get involved!

If you missed the Sports Fair last Tuesday it is not too late to become part of Warwick Sport! Clubs are still holding taster sessions and you are still welcome to go along to their training. In addition you can now register for our Ernst & Young Intra-Mural Leagues and become involved in our new initiative, Warwick Active, which organises different activities throughout the week including a casual running club on Mondays.  We are launching two new support networks at the Students’ Union. For Student Parents from 9.30am on Monday mornings on Weeks 3, 5, 7 and 9, we are starting a free coffee morning (children and toys very welcome!) as an opportunity to meet others and chat in an informal atmosphere, as well as a chance for us to hear how we can support you better as a Students’ Union. On the Thursday of the alternate weeks – 4, 6, 8, and 10 from 11:00am-1pm– there will be a Drop-In session in the Advice Centre available specifically to chat, help and support Students who are Carers.
