Dear Members,

The UKBA have recently proposed changes to the visa system for international students.

The impact of these proposals is potentially far-reaching and could affect current and prospective students, your dependants, the university and employers. It is therefore important that those who will be affected by these proposals voice their concerns.

Warwick SU has been busy combating these changes at all levels, but you can there are two simple things you can do to help combat these proposals:
  1. Fill out the UKBA Consultation yourselves, (You can find information about the changes and sample responses in our news article) by Monday the 31st of January, 2011.
  2. Fill in the National Union of Students’ Survey on the Post-Study Work Visa by Friday the 28th of January 2011.
Please note we are unable to give accurate immigration advice at present on the impact of the proposed changes to individuals until the Government has announced its reforms. We expect the majority of the changes will take place from April 2011 but will be updating you through regular news updates on our website.

Thank you for your help,

Warwick SU
