Warwick Student Cinema: FREE FOR MEMBERS: Tangled (35mm)

Event from Warwick Student Cinema

Tuesday 11 March 2025, 7.30PM - Tuesday 11 March 2025, 9.30PM

L3

Come see Tangled presented on 35mm film on the big screen in L3!

I remember watching Tangled in the cinema back in 2011, and enjoying it so much that my parents bought me the DVD so I could rewatch it to my heart's content. From catchy original songs and lovable characters to an inventive and enchanting story, Tangled really is the full package. The animation is beautiful, especially for its age, with a vibrant colour scheme that fits the film perfectly. I feel that I must mention the iconic lantern scene which I could watch over and over without getting bored, and is sure to make any watcher emotional. Mother Gothel is one of the best Disney Villains because she feels so realistic, her tactics of manipulation are much more terrifying than a spell or any poisoned apple. Rapunzel and Flynn's relationship feels genuine, due to wonderful voice acting that really portrays the characters' personalities. Their playful dynamic balances each other perfectly. Flynn really set standards high for young girls and his charm works on me just as well now as it did when I was 6. Although it sticks to the usual Disney clichés, Tangled stands out due to its unique wit, heart, and hilarious sidekicks. No matter whether this is your first watch or fifth, this film is sure to give you a well needed serotonin boost to combat those end of term blues. It is definitely safe to say that Tangled has stood the test of time, and in my opinion, holds the spot for the best Disney princess film (sorry Frozen)! [Eleanor Armstrong]
