Warwick Student Cinema: Terminator 2: Judgement Day (70mm) - Early

Event from Warwick Student Cinema

Saturday 01 March 2025, 6.30PM - Saturday 01 March 2025, 8.30PM

L3

Come see Terminator 2: Judgement Day presented with stunning 70mm Projection on the big screen in L3!

Ten years after a T-800 Terminator first tried to kill the unborn future freedom fighter, John Connor (Edward Furlong), advanced AI ‘Skynet’ sends another advanced and powerful robot, the T-1000, to remove him from the future. However, another robotic assassin sent by the future rebellion follows, this time a familiar reprogrammed T-800  (Arnold Schwarzenegger), with the mission to protect a now young John from whatever the future sends. Throughout this protection, we see unfold one of the best action films of the 1990s and arguably all time. James Cameron shows us what action blockbusters at their peak can look like with each gunfight, car chase and explosive interaction between the T-800 and its near-invincible, unrelenting successor, the T-1000. Displaying some of the best action in cinema, a now grizzled and well-prepared heroine, Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), fights for the life of her son and the future of humanity. Terminator 2: Judgement Day remains incredibly influential and is now more pertinent than ever. It offers not just some of the best stunts in the genre but ethical questions into the development of technology such as AI, autonomous weapons, and the naivety of man in creating this. A glimpse into a world where ChatGPT stops writing our essays and begins to seek world domination at any cost. [Joe Hodgkinson]
