Come see The Shawshank Redemption presented on 35mm film on the big screen in L3!

Before watching, I thought that The Shawshank Redemption was just another ‘bro film’, but I was pleasantly surprised as this film is so much more than that. I went into watching this blind to the plot, so if you don’t already know what it’s about, I recommend keeping it that way! All I’ll tell you is that this is one of the best prison-movies out there, based on the novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King (and you know it’s got to be good just from that). With a respectable 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, this 1994 drama showcases a viewing experience of true connection to a multitude of characters and a storyline that is genuinely gripping. Morgan Freeman’s performance is easily highlighted in most of the movies he stars in, but this is at the top of his repertoire for me. If all of this wasn’t enough to convince you to come and watch, we’re also playing this classic on 35mm film to make this the ultimate viewing experience for you. [Holly Beaumont]
