Come see Coraline presented with stunning 4K laser projection on the big screen in L3!
Coraline is your regular moody teenage girl, who (unfortunately for her) has just moved into a bleak run-down house in a remote area. Coraline’s boredom gets the better of her when she’s left to her own devices by her work-obsessed parents, and with plenty of time on her hands, she goes roaming the area in search of something to do. In the process, she meets her strange new neighbours and finds a secret passage in her house which leads to an improved version of her reality… or so it seems. This is where things start to quickly descend into the creepy children’s film it’s known to be. With talking cats and button eyes, Coraline comes across from the very beginning as unsettling and nonsensical, and grabs the audience from the first 5 minutes. Although Coraline is a children’s film, there are many hidden details that I’ve only begun to appreciate as I’m getting older, and with every re-watch I find something new. Providing great visuals and an iconic soundtrack, you should give this stop-motion cult-classic a go! [Victoria Beaumont]
