If you're new to Archery, the easiest way to get started is by completing one of our Beginners' Courses! During the course, you'll be taught the basics of how to shoot safely, set up equipment, and how competing in the sport works. By the end of the course, you'll have learned enough to be able to shoot safely at our sessions.
The course is aimed at people who haven't done any archery before, as well as those who have tried the sport at have-a-go sessions, scout camps etc., or those who have taken an extended break and want to get back into archery.
You will receive a certificate to show that you completed the course and that you can shoot safely, which can be provided to other UK archery clubs to enable you to shoot elsewhere.
This course consists of four sessions:
Wednesday 15nd January 13:30-15:30
Sunday 19th January 17:30-19:30
Wednesday 22th January 13:30-15:30
Sunday 26th January 17:30-19:30
All sessions take place in Zone D at the Sports Hub, and you are expected to attend all sessions to receive your certificate.
Please note you must have joined the club before you'll be able to book a space on our courses. To become a club member you will need to purchase the On-campus Warwick Sport Club Pass, Students’ Union Sports Federation Fee and Archery Club Standard Membership. You must also book each session through the Warwick Sport website and bring your student ID card to be able to access Zone D. Each session will only be available to book a week before the event. Instructions on how to book can be found on the club website (https://uwac.co.uk/sessions/). If you do not book each session, you will not be able to get through the barriers in the Sports Hub!
