Democracy & Development

Jack Sperry

Vice President for Democracy & Development

I’m Jack, the Vice President for Democracy & Development. My role is a diverse one that, firstly, helps lead on student elections and All Student Votes (ASV) making sure we can best represent you and your voice. Secondly, the Development aspects of my role means I help manage the SU’s commercial side, including all its great social outlets.

Course:
History & Politics

Hometown:
Hinckley, Leicestershire

Fun fact about me:
I’m a big fan of the late comedian Norm Macdonald

My role and what I hope to achieve this year:
To better represent you and your views, it is vital that we constantly seek to increase and encourage engagement in our SU. Therefore, I aim to increase turnout in our student elections and to improve the general engagement in student democracy so we can make the SU truly work for you.
SU and University outlets are an integral part of student life and the Warwick community. Therefore, on the development side, I will keep our SU the most affordable it can be so that our outlets are the place to go to socialise and relax. That means keeping prices low and making sure students are prioritised when it comes to part-time jobs on campus.
