On Campus Change
Plastic Free POP!
-
Student outlets use thousands of single-use plastic cups during POP and circling every week.
-
As Environment and Ethics Officer I would work with the SU to introduce sustainable alternatives.
Recycling & Efficiency on Campus
-
Food and power wastage on campus is exceedingly high.
-
I will work to provide accessible food waste bins and implement energy efficient lighting and technology across campus.
Reusable Period Products
-
In the UK 200,000 tonnes of waste is generated from period products each year.
-
I will campaign to reduce this by ensuring reusable period products are accessible through the #endperiodpoverty scheme.
An Ethical Future
Public Sustainability Pledges
-
I will advocate for the university and SU to have specific environmental policies on how they will phase out fossil fuel usage to reach their goal of 50% reduction by 2030.
-
Therefore I assure that the university’s sustainability agenda will be more transparent for students, encouraging greater discussion of sustainability within the University.
Public Investments & Ethical Procurement
-
I will campaign for the university to publicly list their investments to meet the university’s commitment to ethical investing.
-
Advocate for regular updates on the university’s investment plans to reach net zero.
Ethical Recruiting: Divesting from Unethical Partnerships
-
I will pressure the university into a commitment to cut ties to recruitment links within fossil fuel, mining, and arms industries.
