How does it work?
We hold an All Student Vote each term and Student Council decide what topics, motions and ideas go to an All Student Vote for debate and decision. ASVs are a weeklong event that starts on the Monday with a debate on the motions. Then it's time to cast your vote from Tuesday to Friday and you have to decide whether you agree (FOR) or disagree (AGAINST) the motion. You can also choose to abstain if you feel you are neither for nor against the motion or idea.
At the end of the week, we count up your votes to find out whether the motion passes into policy (so the Union and your Student Officers start acting on it) or if you have decided that it is not something you want the Union to work on.
