The University of Warwick Tennis Club is one of the biggest and most inclusive sports clubs on campus, with over 339 members, but still with a close-knit family feel. Whether you’ve never picked up a racket before or you’re a serious team player, everyone is welcome.
Social Tennis
We have a huge offering of social tennis for all abilities and members. We run social tennis sessions twice a week, which consist of laid back, relaxed tennis games open to all. We also have match play on a Sunday, which is for those looking to play slightly more competitive tennis through tiebreaks and points against others. We also run a beginners squad for those entering the sport, not to mention our women's and non-binary coaching sessions too! Throughout the year we offer internal competitions through the ladder tournament and summer tournament, so there really is something for everyone.

Competitive Tennis
In terms of competitive tennis we have one of the largest competitive sports setups at the University. Consisting of six men's teams and five women's teams, we have created an excellent training programme which allows competitive tennis players to train up to four times per week, plus playing in the BUCS midlands leagues on a Wednesday. We also have men's and women's development squads which recieves coaching and targets those who are looking to make the step up to BUCS tennis.

Socials
UWTC prides itself on being one of the most sociable clubs on campus, and everyone is welcome regardless of whether they play tennis or not! We run socials at least once per week, ranging from bar crawls, pub golf, sober socials, women's socials, and of course our weekly circle in the Copper Rooms on a Wednesday night. We also run a domestic tour to a mystery city in the UK, an international tour in summer, and our charity ball at the end of term 2.
We are also hugely active within the community, particularly through charity fundraising. Last year, we raised £1,400 for Coventry Mind, which supports those experiencing mental health issues through services like housing, community support, and intensive care. Our close-knit community is also committed to helping where we can and actively supporting charities that are meaningful to our members. This year, we raised over £2,500 for various charities such as the Eve Appeal, Oddballs, Movember and World Endometriosis Research. Our charity events include ‘Charity Socials,’ the ‘Wolf Run,’ Fight Night, and a Charity Ball.
