The University of Warwick Boat Club is a highly active sports club with over 125 members part of the UWBC family. Whether beginner or experienced, male or female, as a member of UWBC, athletes can expect to participate in a well organised rowing programme.looking to perform at the highest level.
Our senior training programme offers rowers the opportunity to continue to compete at a high level and in fast, powerful crews. Experienced rowers at Warwick can expect several water sessions each week backed by a comprehensive range of other activities, such as core stability, weights, running and ergo sessions. Staple races include HoRR, WeHoRR, BUCS and Henley.
The novice training programme, which is open to all Warwick students, offers a comprehensive introduction to the art of rowing. From as early in the academic year as November, novices are invited to demonstrate their new talent at competitions across the country. By the end of the year they will be sufficiently skilled to progress into the senior set up or into local clubs back home.
The coxing programme offers the opportunity to navigate and motivate crews in training and in competition. No prior experience is required, you will be taught all of the skills necessary to become a quality cox. Coxes have the unique opportunity to enjoy the competitive perks of being integral to a high performing sports club, without having to meet any fitness requirements.
Our squads, who benefit from regular technical advice and video feedback sessions, have shown some excellent performances over the past few years at a range of competitions, including club records being broken in many squads.
