RAW is your national award-winning and acclaimed Student Radio & TV Station

As one of the most active and respected societies at the university, there is always something going on that you can take part in! We're completely student-run and have been at the heart of the campus community for over 55 years, championing music, news, speech, sports and arts coverage, from national to student events.

These are just some of the ways to get involved:

  • We give you the chance to host your own show, regardless of your prior experience or ability: you can play the music you love, share an interest in sport, music, the arts or anything that takes your fancy!
  • Report on the news and join current affairs discussions
  • Get involved with documentaries, interviews, live events and Visuals broadcasts!

If being on air isn’t your thing, then we have a whole range of off-air teams:

  • Innovate with our tech team,
  • Try your hand at creating jingles, adverts and videos with our production team
  • Get involved with creating eye-catching designs with the publicity team!

Most of all, have a laugh and try something new with your friends. You can always listen to the station, or join our behind-the-scenes teams if hosting a show doesn’t interest you. We pride ourselves in developing presenters, journalists, and media professionals with Alumni working for the BBC, ITV, Global, Bauer Media Group, Netflix, Sky and more. You could be the next Stephen Merchant, Ruth Jones or Simon Mayo, so what are you waiting for? Join today!
