Welcome to Warwick University Green Party Society!
We are Warwick's newest political society and proud nominees for Best New Society. Our society aims to be a safe haven for all left-leaning students and to welcome all students who want to fight for a green and fair future.
Our society is closely connected with Green Party societies across the country and is a proud affiliate of the Warwick District Green Party. In this function, we have used our mandate as the society with the most direct influence in local politics to elect Mark Stevens as the local councillor for university students living on campus in Warwick District.
By joining us, you gain a unique opportunity to influence local politics and be part of a wider national network committed to progressive change.
We host events throughout the year and would love to welcome you. So, get involved, meet like-minded people and together let’s make a difference!
Join our society and follow us on Instagram (@warwick.greens) to stay up-to-date with our latest events and campaigns.
Campaigning
Warwick District. We’ve helped elect 21 Green councillors, making us the largest group on the council. Among them is Mark Stevens, elected as the councillor representing students living on campus, a crucial step in ensuring students’ voices are heard on key issues like bus transport and affordable housing.
We understand that campaigning can feel daunting at first, but you won’t be doing it alone. Our society is here to guide and support you every step of the way if you’re passionate about getting Greens elected and making real change happen. By becoming a licensed member of our society, you gain the unique opportunity to influence local politics and have a direct say in choosing the candidates who represent your interests. Furthermore, we offer opportunities to get involved in environmental volunteering within local communities, giving you the tools and experience to help shape a more sustainable future.
Our mission is to fight for those who need it most, those left disillusioned and unheard by the established parties. While others serve the interests of the wealthy, we stand with ordinary people, students, and the most disadvantaged in our communities.
Let’s stand together and make a difference. Because united, we are strongest.
Socials
Our society is committed to being a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful space, not one dominated by toxic power struggles or shouting matches. We were founded as a safe haven for left-leaning students who want to build a greener, fairer future together. We have a zero-tolerance policy for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and any form of discrimination.
We offer a diverse range of socials, with something for everyone, whether you prefer events with alcohol or sober alternatives. From pub quizzes, pub crawls, and SU POPs to discussion nights, board games, talks, laser tag, and more, we strive to create events that are fun, inclusive, and tailored to a wide range of interests.
At our core, we want to be a space where left-leaning students feel comfortable, valued, and connected with like-minded people. We also regularly collaborate with other societies to bring you the very best events on campus.
Our fantastic Social Secretaries organise all events and will always have a designated Welfare Officer present, someone you can turn to if you ever need support.

Talks and Discussions
Throughout the year, we’ll be hosting talks and discussions with prominent Green figures, from party leaders to directors of major charities. To stay in the loop, follow us on Instagram @warwick.greens, where we’ll post all upcoming events.
We’re also excited about introducing our newest (and cheekiest) event: “Hating Keir over Beer”, an informal space to vent your frustrations about the Labour government and politics more broadly, all while enjoying drinks with like-minded people. Expect laughter, solidarity, and perhaps a few questionable decisions.
If that sounds like your vibe, join our society and connect with others who share your passion for progressive politics.
ROOTS Magazine
Our newly launched digital magazine, led by our Journalism Officer, is a platform dedicated to amplifying student voices. Whether it’s politics, the environment, social justice, or any other issue you're passionate about, we welcome all students to contribute.
If you have something to say, Roots offers you a platform. Write an article, raise awareness, and be part of a growing community of student writers.
Tour
Thanks to our strong connections with Green Party societies across the country, we're planning an affordable and accessible tour to another UK city. These trips are a chance to both host and support fellow societies, joining forces to campaign in local elections and help get Greens elected.
Our tours will always include a mix of political and non-political events, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and included, regardless of how politically active they are. It’s all part of our commitment to being a safe and supportive space for all left-leaning students.
