All Student Vote (Summer 2021)
Covid Accountability

This motion asks the president to write to the Principal and other senior leaders, for an urgent town hall meeting where students can question the unis decisions, follow up with weekly meetings, and publish any outcomes by the Uni Executives.
The full motion can be found under the full description of the motion.
This Union Notes:
- The Principal receives a total of £377,000 per year as Vice Chancellor. The Pro-Vice Chancellor team receive a total of £1,867,000[1].
This Union Believes:
- The Students Union have passed multiple motions regarding racism, xenophobia, sexual assault, mental health crises, poor teaching quality, expensive rent, and graduations. The University has failed to respond to these longstanding issues exacerbated by the pandemic.
- “University leaders have to justify their pay” according to the Office for Students. The poor performance and high pay of Warwick Executives is unjustifiable. University Executives should pledge to pay a significant proportion of their income to charities which will benefit students, such as CRASAC and the Hardship Fund[2].
- Students have petitioned for a ‘Safety Net’ and the University has not delivered[3].
This Union Resolves:
- For the President to publicly write to the Principal, Pro Vice Chancellor (Education), Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor (Education) and the Dean of Students demanding an urgent online ‘town hall’ meeting where students may anonymously question their failures. This letter should include reference to their “excessive” income and the need to support charities.
- For the President, Education, and Postgraduate Officer to follow up on this meeting weekly and publicise any outcomes promised by the University Executive.
