Hi there, and welcome to Term 3! |
I hope you are all doing well and that you’ve managed to have at least a bit of a break over the past few weeks, and that those of you currently based in the UK have been enjoying the recent easing of lockdown restrictions! |
Whilst this term might not be exactly as we expected, and we are disappointed that the Government hasn’t prioritised students returning to universities over the past few months, we are still planning to make the most of it and are excited for a very busy term ahead. |
There’s loads going on this term over at the SU, including the Summer Elections, outlets reopening, Union Awards, and much more. For starters, this week will see the start of the nomination period for the Summer Elections, so be sure to read more below to find out about all the positions available and nominate yourself! Also, we’ll be opening Curiositea and The Dirty Duck this week to keep you fed and watered whilst on-campus. |
Over the past few weeks, we have been working closely with the University to ensure key issues such as study space and rent are addressed. As a result, the University are opening loads of seminar rooms and spare spaces on-campus as study space. Whilst all spaces are operating on reduced capacity due to social distancing, there are far more spaces open than usual so be sure to check this page for details on everything that’s available. We’ve also now received confirmation that students who were not occupying their off-campus Warwick Accommodation managed accommodation in Term 2 will be eligible for a rent waiver – check your emails this week for more information on this. |
As ever, our Advice Centre is open and available if you need advice on anything from rent/accommodation to mitigating circumstances and academic issues. You can get in touch with the Advice Centre at advice@warwicksu.com or via this page. |
I would like to wish you all a safe and enjoyable term, and the best of luck with any upcoming exams and assessments. Also, on behalf of the whole SU, I’d like to extend a massive thank you to all of our Medical students and key workers, who have been working so hard to keep us all safe and well over the past months. |
Have a great week. |
All the best, Luke |
