Happy New Year, postgrads – and a warm welcome to all new PG students who are joining us this term!
The start of 2019 means that things are once again going to be jam-packed in the postgrad world. Tuesday 8th January sees the return of the PG Quiz - head along to The Graduate at 7.30pm to test your knowledge over a drink and some food (if you fancy!) The entry fee is £1 per person, and the winning team takes home the pot. The quiz also runs every week – same time, same place!
On Thursday 10th January, we have the first instalment of Postgrad Connections for 2019! With a welcome back, a chat with other postgrad students, and a drink and bite to eat, this monthly event takes place in The Graduate from 4.30pm-6pm. The event is free, but you do need to reserve a ticket on our website – see below for details.
I also recently launched a sparkly new website full of information, support and resources on postgrad life. It includes a quiz you can take to see how well you’re balancing your study life, along with a load of tips on how you can support yourself through your studies. Check it out at warwicksu.com/pgconnections.
Finally, on 14th January, nominations open for our Spring Elections, which take place later this term. This is where students will be electing the full-time Officer Team for next year, as well as some of our part-time officer roles! If you want to help improve the experience of postgrad students at Warwick, then do consider nominating yourself for Postgraduate Officer (or any of the other positions that are available) - if elected, you’ll be in post for a whole year starting in September 2019, and will have the chance to work with a whole range of people within the University and SU! If you want some more information about the available roles and how to nominate yourself, head to our elections website below - if you have any questions about what I do and want to find out more, then please feel free to email me or pop into my office!
See you soon,
Ellie
