| An initiative long-campaigned for by the Students’ Union, the first-ever lecture-free Welcome Week provides a fantastic opportunity for returning students to get settled back into university life. Whether it’s a night-time event in The Copper Rooms, info sessions run by the University or one of the many Sports Club or Society socials that are being organised, many of the events are open to students from all year-groups! |
| Entering a new year of study while living in off-campus accommodation presents its own set of challenges, so please don’t forget that our Advice Centre team is here to provide free, independent and confidential advice on any issues you may be having – see below for details of our WELFARE & HOUSING GUIDE, which you can read now online. |
| Many of you will be representing your Club or Society at this week’s Fairs, so we look forward to seeing you there! Of course, if you haven’t gotten involved in extra-curricular activities before, it’s never too late to see what’s on offer – see below for more info, and come along this week to check out our 250+ student-run societies and 65 sports clubs. Who knows, it may even end up changing your life! The MAKE YOUR MARK! FAIR on Friday is also a great opportunity to find out more about you can get involved in campaigning, democracy and representing your fellow students at the SU. |
| Those of you who’ve visited SUHQ recently may have noticed that we’re having a bit of a makeover at the moment – apologies for the last few bits of building work still taking place, we’re hoping it should all be finished within the next week! We’ll have new furniture coming soon to hopefully make it a much more welcoming and comfortable space for students to use. |
