Hi {FirstName},
Voting is now OPEN in this year’s Officer and NUS Delegate Elections here at Warwick SU.
If you’re based on or around campus this week, you’ll no doubt have seen the mass of cardboard signs asking for your vote and met some of the candidates in person. Why does this all matter? Put simply, the people elected this week will represent YOU both locally and nationally during the next academic year.
Sabbatical Officers look after different areas of the Students’ Union, ensuring that it’s run in the best interests of our members while heading up the SU’s strategy on wider national issues facing Higher Education. Part-Time Officers represent liberation communities and academic faculties on campus, making sure that your voice gets heard in the social, political and academic community. NUS Delegates will represent Warwick at the NUS National Conference, in turn contributing to the national discussion around campaigning and HE reforms.
Backed by strong mandates from students, previous Officer teams have delivered such initiatives as a 24-Hour Library, a stand-alone Freshers Week, a freeze in campus rent prices and increased funding opportunities for Postgraduate students. Please take a few moments to read the candidates’ manifestos to see who you think will do the best job, then cast your vote online HERE before the deadline of 9pm on Friday – it only takes a few clicks!
It’s your Students’ Union – make sure you’re a part of it.
