Thanks to everyone who’s filled in our Help Us Help You survey so far – if you haven’t had time yet, you still have this week to send us your thoughts and feedback! As a group that’s been under-represented in the past, it’s really important that Postgraduate students let us know what you think about all aspects of the SU’s provision for students – whether that’s academic representation, clubs and societies, advice and welfare facilities or our food outlets, bars and nightclub. There’s a prize draw to win summer event tickets, along with a free Mars Bar for all completed entries!
Week 7 is Go Green Week, where students will have the opportunity to find out more about their environmental impact and how this can be changed to improve our world for the better. We’re also holding a Wellbeing and Mental Health Awareness Day in the SU on Wednesday, where you’ll be able to find loads of useful information about keeping yourself in the best possible mental shape while at University.
In each email bulletin from this point on, we’ll be highlighting a Postgraduate Society of the Week – this week it’s TEDxWarwick, the largest student-led conference in Europe which is organised by a team of 32 students at Warwick. This year’s main event is in two weeks’ time, and will be a day-long event with 18 speakers from across the world with fantastic ideas to spread. Every living thing affects its surroundings, but humanity is now influencing every aspect of the Earth on a scale akin to the great forces of nature. We have pushed the planet into a new geological epoch – the Anthropocene. TEDx aims to highlight those individuals who have revolutionised attitudes and approaches in the sciences, humanities and arts - for more information, see tedxwarwick.com/2015/
