We will be sending out more information in the coming weeks about the Postgraduate Association, which is a great way to get involved in influencing postgrad-related issues in both the University and and your Students’ Union – look out for more details coming soon via email. Here at Warwick SU we have been listening to your feedback and have made some substantial changes over the summer to make your SU experience even better. The first things you will notice include a new-look Terrace Bar and Mighty Duck, as well as more furniture in the Atrium and a cosier Curiositea. We are also really excited about the total overhaul of Xananas, with a brand new kitchen, a fresh look and an all-new menu. There will be big changes to the Ents programme this year too, changing the events you love for the better and creating original nights out to increase the variety on offer for everyone. The SU has also undergone a complete review of our democratic processes and membership services, resulting in more staff here to help you in your activities. Come and see for yourself in the completely redesigned Student Resources Room in SUHQ, where all our student-facing membership staff are now located in order to best serve your needs. The Warwick SU staff team has been working hard to listen to your feedback and make changes for you - we hope you like it!

Are you unhappy with the way your course is run or administered? Are you prepared to raise the concerns of fellow Postgraduates to the University? If so, this is your opportunity to do just that. Each faculty has an elected Postgraduate representative who sits on various committees within the University and is able to influence the decision-making process. This post also extends to the Students’ Union as it entitles you to a seat on Student Council. So, if you feel that Postgraduates are underrepresented in the Union, this is your opportunity to work together with other PG councillors to implement change. Elections are in Week 3 and nominations are open now! Go to warwicksu.com/elections for more info and to nominate yourself. There are also regular PG seats on Council up for grabs too!

Our 230 different student-run societies are all gearing up for Societies Fair, which will be happening in Week 1. Come down to The Copper Rooms from 10am–4pm on Wednesday to check out our media, gaming, performance and music societies, Thursday for all charity, campaigning and academic societies as well as our own Democracy team, and Friday for our cultural and religious or belief societies. These are a great way to meet students who share similar interests, and for many they form an integral part of the University experience.

The Students’ Union has a free and confidential Advice Centre available to all students. If you have a problem with housing, personal health, your course, money or anything else, please do get in touch via welfare@warwicksu.com or advice@warwicksu.com. We are also holding our first Campaigns Convention this term, so come along on Saturday Week 2 in Copper Rooms 2 between 1-4pm if you want to get involved in campaigning here this year!
