Come see Blade Runner - The Directors Cut presented on 35mm film on the big screen in L3!

Scott’s premonitions of Los Angeles as AI replicants endure submission under planet Earth. Adapted from Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, Scott’s Blade Runner is the epitome of science-fiction. His speculation of the future introduces themes of identity, humanity and the lived-experience in a world of rigid hierarchy, surveillance and non-stop rain. With impressive, one-of-a-kind set design, saturated visuals and Vangelis’ pioneering use of synths work harmoniously to create an eerily familiar reflection of our world today.

This showing is one of those miracles that we like to try and pull off here at WSC every now and again. This Director’s Cut 35mm print is from the Warner Bros Media Archives and we cannot stress enough just how magical it is that we get to project this in our very own L3, here at the University of Warwick. This experience will be a rarity that we’re so thankful we get the opportunity to share with you all. [Kelvin Allan]
