"So whoever sights [the crescent of] the month, let him fast it..." [2:185]

For many years now Warwick ISOC has had the privilege of providing free daily iftar to the Muslim community on and around campus. We hope to continue this great act of service in Ramaḍān 1446 (2025). It is a huge privilege to be able to provide this and it would not be possible except by the generous donations and volunteering from members of our community.

"And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [saying], 'We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.'" [76:8-9]

The virtues of feeding others during Ramaḍān are immeasurable. The iftar service is not just about providing a meal, but about bringing our community together, strengthening bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood, and fulfilling one of the most beloved acts of charity.

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever feeds the person who is breaking his fast, he will have his reward (for his fasting) without decreasing anything from the reward of the fasting person." [Sunan at-Tirmidhī 807]

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The best of you are those who feed others.” [Musnad Aḥmad 23926]

We therefore encourage everyone to contribute as much as they can to partake in this virtuous endeavour. Whether through financial donations, volunteering your time, or simply spreading the word, every contribution matters. Each plate of food you help provide is an opportunity for reward, a chance to embody the spirit of compassion and generosity that defines Ramaḍān.

We pray that Allah accepts our and your actions during this blessed month. May He grant us the tawfeeq to experience many more Ramaḍāns, to serve our community, and to draw closer to Him through acts of kindness and service.
