Hello everyone!
I'm Aditya, currently a second year undergraduate mathematics student and I'm running for the post of Environment and Ethics officer!
My experience as being a student rep at the Mathematics SSLC gives me the ability to think critically about my department, my education and my experience and that I believe is a fundamental necessity in a role such as this because having represented hundreds of students and having heard their views and opinions, I believe I am well suited for voicing the opinions of students.
I'm also currently a student ambassador because I believe that the possibility of sharing my ideas and thoughts on my institution is a great opportunity for me to give back and in the process, aid others to joining the journey and experience I've had and am having here.
Promises/Aims
1] Accounting&Monitoring- Increase accountability of university leadership and regularly take updates on and monitor environmental and ethical policies and matters such as the University Strategy 2030 which also involves a carbon neutral pledge.
2] GreaterCampaignSupport- Support all reasonable campgains led by students and scrutinize current and upcoming university policies and decisions for an improvement to our student experience.
3] FeedbackLoops- Obtain constant student feedback, criticism and opinions on all matters that I possess leadership and control over by running university-wide anonymous student polls and act on them by presenting the results and suggesting ideas to the SU.
4] TackleChallenges- Aim to promote sustainable development, reduce waste generation, ensure ethical supply-chain practices and raise awareness towards the above by actively recognizing societies and sports clubs as significant platforms for learning and interaction.
5] InterUniversity SU- Lead a new idea- Increase university outreach by collaborating with SU officers of other universities and try to actively institutionalize a framework to promote a greater exchange of ideas, fuel growth and engage with a wider audience for a chance at greater enrichment and diversity.
