Priorities

  • Improve the SU app
  • Accessible democracy
  • Better bus services

Experience

My experience lends itself to delivering on my wide-reaching manifesto.

  • Politics Society President
  • Democracy Exec Member
  • SU Freshers’ Week Welcome Helper
  • Passed a motion through ASM
  • Host of a show on RAW

Better Bus Services

  • Tackle bus overcrowding by lobbying Stagecoach to increase capacity
  • Explore options to decrease prices and introduce a flexible payment plan
  • Lobby for the return of convenient bus routes into Sydenham
  • Fight for later services into Coventry to ensure all students can get home safely

Improve the SU App

  • Simplify the app so it is no longer just an imperfect copy of the website
  • Facilitate ticket transfers through the SU app
  • Introduce a ticket tracker to easily check your purchases for SU events
  • Advertise menus and specials at SU outlets on the app
  • Streamline the process of joining societies and sports clubs on the app

A Convenient Campus

  • Lobby for convenient storage lockers on campus
  • Provide an on campus food bank donation point – which I have already secured a mandate for through ASM
  • Continue the work of the existing sabbs to introduce sleeping pods

A More Convenient Campus

  • Finally put a kettle in the postgraduate hub
  • Install more water fountains across campus
  • Make sure every new University building has purpose-built study spaces

Accessible Democracy

  • ASM information sessions before every deadline to make sure the process is explained
  • Easy-to understand policy-making descriptions and graphics to show how your ideas become policy
  • Better publicised ‘Be the Candidate’ sessions so our SU reflects our diverse community

Increasing Turnout

  • Work with candidates to put together achievable manifestos ahead of elections
  • Harness the reach of societies to promote elections and encourage more participation
  • Consistent efforts to better explain SU democracy so it’s easier to engage with

Working for Everyone

  • Clearly publishing dietary requirements and allergens on all SU menus
  • Making sure international students still receive support in the new Welcome Week
  • Ensure gender neutral toilets in all University buildings
  • Cheaper hot water in outlets on campus
  • Fight for better vegetarian and vegan options in Rootes Grocery Store to match the range in SU outlets
